Christ’s Disciples

LECTIO DIVINA REFLECTION… (from Gospel reading below)

WHAT IS THE LORD PERSONALLY SAYING TO ME?

Being Christ’s is more important than anything on this earth! Our entire journey is about getting to heaven. We need to remember this and prioritize it daily. We need to rise above the pettiness that keeps us down in the troubles of this world.

WHAT DOES THE LORD PERSONALLY WANT ME TO DO?

Write this down and post it on the fridge or on my phone. Write down my complaints or worries in a separate notebook and stop voicing them out loud for everyone to hear.

Have a mantra, like; “Rise Above…” or “Carry Your Cross…”

MY PRAYER…

Lord, I want to be one of your disciples.  Help me to Know, Love, and Serve you better in my daily life.  Help me to prioritize my schedule so that all that I do is pleasing to you and will help lead others to you. Help me to “Rise Above” all the pettiness in my life and to “Carry my Cross” so that it leads me and others to you.  All for the Glory of God…

Blessings,

Sharon

Gospel Reading: Luke 14:25-33

25 Great crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and addressed them, 26 “If any one comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28 Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? 29 Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him 30 and say, ‘This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.’ 31 Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops? 32 But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms. 33 In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.

“Peace Be With You”

Gospel Reading: John 20:19-23

19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came  and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

LECTIO DIVINA REFLECTION…

WHAT IS THE LORD PERSONALLY SAYING TO ME?

I am giving you my Peace and the Holy Spirit to send you OUT as well.  Go and tell the Good News of All that I have done in your Life.  “Your Sins have been Forgiven…”

WHAT DOES THE LORD PERSONALLY WANT ME TO DO?

Do a better job of remembering All that the Lord has done for me.  Write it down, formulate my thoughts, Keep a Record!  It’s All For The Glory Of God and should be shared with others.  No one can refute that!!!

MY PRAYER…

Lord, help me to do a better job of Giving Glory to you by sharing All that you have done in my Life.  Continue to give me your Peace, Lord as I go out into the world.

Pentecost blessings,

Sharon

“My Peace I Give To You…”

John 14:23-2923

Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. 25 “These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all  that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, `I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place, you may believe.

Lectio Divina Reflection…

What is the Lord personally saying to me?

Immerse yourself in my Word, there you will find the Peace you are looking for… your Sacred Space…  My Peace is with you Always IF you stay close to me in all things.

What does the Lord personally want me to do?

Read the Word daily and meditate on it through out the day.  There I will be at Peace and can then be strong enough to go out into the world with His armor on.

My Prayer…

Give me your Peace, O Lord, as I go about my days. Your Peace, “The Peace of Christ” is all that I need…
